Student Internship

By far not every student has a clear idea of what they want to do when they grow up. And this is completely normal!

We're more than happy to help you figure out which profession you enjoy and welcome you to a two-week student internship. Learn about the different job profiles within an industrial enterprise in the automotive sector and get one step closer to the job that suits you best.

Laila's experience as a student intern

Laila is a student who decided to complete her internship at ERICH JAEGER. In her first week, she got to know our technical department. That is where she tested control units, soldered cables and contacts, repaired displays and built plugs. With help of our technical product designer, Laila applied her newly learned knowledge and drew several product views herself. Using a computer program, she designed various shapes and eventually designed her own piece. (View the result here.)

Laila's second week started off with an introduction to the processes of the Purchasing Department. Here, she helped to pick out furniture for the reorganization of a new office. In the Marketing and Communications Department, Laila was involved in the improvement process of the ERICH JAEGER website. She analyzed a rapid user test and identified the needs and demands of our customers. Her findings helped to make our website as user-friendly as possible. Finally, after visiting a trade show in Frankfurt at which our sales team was exhibiting, Laila had the chance to get to know the whole ERICH JAEGER Germany team at our summer party in Friedberg.

If you too, like Laila, would like to find out which profession suits you, then get in touch with us! We will be happy to show you around the company.

Benjamin Hieke

Head of Wire Harness Development at Erich Jaeger in Friedberg, Germany.

"In 2016, I asked our managing director at that time which kind of career opportunities were available for young employees at ERICH JAEGER. He then suggested that a degree was necessary to advance to management level. I then found a suitable correspondence course at the Technical University in Friedberg. Normally, a bachelor's degree is a prerequisite for a master's degree, and fortunately the THM offered this in a package, so I had the opportunity to complete both degrees."

Project Manager Components and Systems at Erich Jaeger in Friedberg, Germany

"It used to be much less common than it is today for girls to pursue a technical profession. I was 16 when I started. And as a 16-year-old girl, I was really an outsider, or rather a rarity. (…) But I never perceived the issue as a problem here. It was rather pleasant for everyone that a woman was finally part of the team."
