Design Engineer (m/f/d) for Connectors (plastic injection molded parts)
Job description
For more than 95 years, ERICH JAEGER has been developing and manufacturing high-quality connectors for various industries. In addition to many well-known automobile and commercial vehicle manufacturers, companies from other other industries are among our customers. Currently, more than 1000 employees work at our corporate headquarters in Germany, five production sites in Europe, Asia and Northern America as well as sales offices in the USA, France, Poland and Italy.
To strengthen our team in Friedberg in the greater Frankfurt / Main area, we are looking for a Design Engineer for Connectors (Plastic Injection Moulded Parts). Your task will be the development of connectors for the automotive industry. Our products are used for the connection of trailers and towing vehicles and are applied by all many major manufacturers from the passenger car, commercial vehicle and agricultural machine industry.
Tasks
- Development and design of plastics connectors and contact systems
- Supervision of projects from project start to series production in cooperation with project management
- Preparation of feasibility analyses, project calculations, FMEA and technical documentation
- Support of the quality department in processing complaints
- Support of the sales department with product calculations
- Support of colleagues on site during series start-up in the plants in China, Mexico or the Czech Republic
Requirements
- Successfully completed technical studies or similar qualification
- Experience in the development of electromechanical connectors and electrical contacts
- Experience in the design of plastic injection molded parts and the corresponding mold design
- Good knowledge of 2D and 3D design, preferably with Creo (Windchill)
- Relevant knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001
- Good German and English language skills
