Design Engineer for automotive cables (m/f/d)

Job description

To strengthen our team in Friedberg in the greater Frankfurt / Main area or in Bruchsal near Karlsruhe, we are looking for a Design Engineer for automotive cables. Your task will be the development of data connectors for the automotive industry from the start of the project to the start of production.

Our products are used for the connection of trailers and towing vehicles and are applied by all many major manufacturers from the passenger car, commercial vehicle and agricultural machine industry.

Tasks

  • Checking customer requirements and the feasibility of cables in close cooperation with the internal specialist departments

  • Design and construction of cables, preferably vehicle-specific cables and wires, taking into account customer specifications as well as national and international standards

  • Preparation of technical documentation of cables (drawings, material specification, parts lists, ...)

  • Execution of product risk analyses and design FMEAs

  • Preparation of product test plans (DVP&R) and support of product validation up to series production

  • Participation in regular review of cable design documents

  • Participation in the preparation and attendance of technical meetings, seminars and exhibitions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent education

  • 1-3 years of professional experience in cable design, with knowledge in automotive environment desirable

  • Analytical thinking, independent and proactive working style

  • Very good knowledge of MS Office and CAD software

  • Goal- and result-oriented work

  • Ability to work under pressure, in a team and in an organized manner

  • Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
